Thai Cambodia Vietnam Photos

The usual journal (gossip/impressions) can be found under "Previous Posts" or (click)
right click to enlarge ... the last cycling day, in Saigon in front of city hall, 34C ....... Rowena, Stan, Beth, Brian,Doug,John,Gary, Bruce, Carl.... in front of Peoples Committee Building.
Vietnam looks a whole lot different than "Apocolyse Now"
It's the frequent scenes like that this in Vietnam, that made the trip an "8", and the guide Nhan himself pushed it to an "8.5" in my subjective rating system.
a 27X zoom, ...elephant ride was special, the water up to eyebrows was a surprise.
Vietnamese seem to kill (and eat) anything that moves. To me, it's a crying shame to kill a giant manta ray like this.

this is a moment of "crazy" ... we took motorcycles back from war museum in Hanoi .... it's hard to put the motorcycle scene into words ... just amazing, being faced with a sea of motorcycles, ... it kind of works on a 'maintain your course' assumption, ... just like sailing
this is typical HaLong Bay, ..... kind of eerie.
this is day one of cycling in Vietnam, 9 cyclists, after having flown from Hanoi to Hue, half the way to Saigon
this is day 2 in Bangkok, where we went on the ABC day tour with Frank Flatters and Jeb

this is a 40X zoom of the Myanmar (Burmese) army encampment across the bamboo (literal) fence.

First day with The Smiling Albino group with Scott the Manager/co-founder
In Thailand, near Ching Rai .... feeding the elephant, later when I wasn't paying attention one of them gently nudged me from behind with a wet snout, .... to say "Where's those bananas you had?"
The only day of trekking in northern Thai, 83 year old grandmother, of the so-called hill-people. Locals dont speak Thai
Brian and Tara from US Navy, Okinawa, I was on adjacent elephant.
Reading in a hilltop resort.
